About me
From Boston. Now living in York, England
I'm an expert in content strategy and UX content design with more than 25 years in the financial services industry.
I'm a dual US and Irish citizen, legally able to work in the US, UK, and EU. I've recently relocated from the US to the UK to be closer to my husband’s parents. After taking some time to get settled, I'm looking for a position that empowers me to lead teams who create useful and usable content to help people manage their financial lives digitally.
I spent the last several years deepening my knowledge about the technology that drives the creation and delivery of content and I want to help other content teams innovate, simplify processes, and bring content to the forefront of digital product design.
My Irish Passport took about 9 months to renew so I haven’t been able to work since I got here, but now… I’m ready. I’m excited for my next opportunity to learn, lead, and build amazing digital products!
More about me
Since I am so much more than what I’ve accomplished in my career, I thought you might like to know a little about my family and me.
I come from a large (like, really large!) family in the US and Ireland; yet I married an only child and we had a single child. The three of us love hanging out together with our rescue dachshund, Lola. Whether we’re cooking, hiking, traveling or just finding the latest Netflix binge, we’re happiest when we’re together.
My daughter, Mia, goes to a Quaker school in York and is adjusting to all the changes wonderfully. John, my husband, works for the York City Council and is about to start a new role there in a few weeks. His parents are still in shock that he moved home after 18 years in the States.
I love exploring York and other parts of England and the UK. I’m very much looking forward to expanding my travel across Europe and beyond. I’ve spent a good bit of time biking and walking around York, making new friends, and exploring all the amazing restaurants, shops, museums, and tourist traps in the area. Driving still intimidates me a little bit, but I’m getting there!
We’ve traveled to Scotland and Ireland a few times since we arrived and made the 2-hour train ride to London several times to see shows and visit family. I still find it hard to believe that in just a few hours we can be in Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and so many beautiful parts of England. We’ve done day trips to walk the seaside towns of Whitby, Scarborough, and Bridlington. And we’ve hiked in the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District, and the Moors. I thought New England had a lot to offer but actual England is exceeding my expectations!
